Jeff Teague declares warriors should exchange Jonathan Kuminga – NBC Sports Bay Area & California
While the saga of the warrior contract with the striker of free will Jonathan Kuminga approaches the three -month sign, there are many opinions throughout the NBA panorama on how to end the stall.
The former All-Star of the NBA Jeff Teague did not avoid sharing his thoughts on the situation during the offseason, and this week he claimed that Golden State made a move that would benefit both himself and Kuminga.
In a recent episode of his podcast “Club 520”, Teague explained why he would like to see the Warriors complete a cartel and trade agreement that he would have sent Kuminga to the sacrament and watch Malik Monk in the bay.
“Malik Monk could actually be an addition of fire to the Warriors,” said Teago (H/T Golden State Warriors on Si.com). “But I think they are put on a great – this is what they need more than anything else. I think it would be an addition of fire, however, because they need a candle like him. This is the type of player Jordan Poole right there.”
During his last three seasons with Sacramento, Monk scored 15.3 points per game on average with 44.3 percent of the field shooting and 34.4 percent from 3 points. The 27-year-old arrived fifth and second in the sixth man of the year NBA voting respectively in the seasons 2022-23 and 2023-24.
As noted by Teague, Monk could provide Warriors with a similar spark from the bench to the former Golden State Guardian Jordan Poole, who played a fundamental role in their winning race of the NBA finals of 2022.
“I think that if he had entered that system with those veterans and players, this could model it a little more. It will probably be better than Jordan Poole, to tell the truth,” continued Teague with Monk. “I’m not saying it’s a better player. Jordan Poole is cold, but Jordan Poole has grown in that system, so he understood how to be successful.”
While warriors who find a Poole replacement sounds great in theory may not be so realistic at this point.
According to a report by Dalton Johnson of the NBC Sports Bay Area Saturday, the possibilities of Golden State who accept a sign with Kuminga are scarce.
With the time that runs out for both sides to make a decision, a conclusion to this saga a month long should arrive.
