Jordan Pickford: “I’m in the shape of my life”
Jordan Pickford snubbed several big clubs and extended with Everton in February. The goalkeeper believes that he has never been better.
The England international has previously been linked with clubs such as Manchester United, Tottenham and Chelsea.
But in February, Jordan Pickford, 29, opted to extend his contract with Everton until 2027.
Pickford remains the first choice between the posts in the English national team. The upcoming European Championship in Germany will be his fourth championship.
“In Russia (2018) I was classed as a rookie, really, and then you will never have the perfect path in football. You’re going to have downturns in your career and it’s all about how you learn from them,” he said, according to the Daily Mirror.
I think that’s why my performances are consistent.
“I feel like it’s something I’ve really worked. I think that’s why my performances are consistent and that’s why I feel like I’m in the best shape of my life,” Pickford continued.
The 29-year-old also believes Sean Dyche is leading Everton in the right direction.
“We’ve turned it around. Apart from the Aston Villa game (0-4 loss), the other three games were very close and we were in control of the Sheffield United game. We only have one point on the board but we can build on it,” Pickford said.
