Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving discuss what went wrong to Brooklyn
Entering the NBA season 2021-22, the question was: “Can anyone compete with Brooklyn’s networks?” They had Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden with a solid support cast. They were the favorite of the clear bets that entered the seasonWithout another team in the East particularly close. When the playoffs turned around, Harden had forced themselves to Philadelphia and the 44-38 goals were in the seventh seventh in the East, I was swept away by the playoffs in the first round by Boston.
In the last few days during public discussions, Durant and Kyrie Irving were re-liability what went wrong to Brooklyn.
The game podcast with Lebron James and Steve Nash began with Durant in mind, the latter of which he was the coach of that team of Nets.
“I feel like us [Durant, Nash] They were blocked on the same page and understand that we are trying to do something special here. And I feel like your hands were very close because, as a coach, you had to face so much. I think we didn’t get the full Steve Nash as I wanted. As you probably wanted …
“I liked it. I really liked Brooklyn. I liked playing for Brooklyn, but it happened so much around the guys who were engaged in the situation. I felt like if we were busy but all the others were not. It was only strange.”
Irving, Speaking on his Twitch channelHe spoke of how he waited for Durant to be healthy from his torn Achilles and that the nets worried more than KD than Irving did – and the former Kenny Atkinson coach also captured a stray from Irving. Here’s what Irving said about his relationship with networks:
“I wish we had the opportunity to get to know them in advance because they were not fucking with me like this … Kenny Atkinson was not going crazy with me.
Irving also said he was surprised by the Harden tradeThat Harden himself had pushed and that obtaining Ben Simmons and his back problems as a return in the end proved to be a disaster. (Harden has made many shots in the media and online at the time of that trade, but within a year the pendulum had swing and seemed the boy who saw the writing on the wall and came out while he could.)
Irving, however, added that it has no problems with Durant, Nash or anyone else in Brooklyn.
“KD and I are not strengthening. I’m not strengthening with Steve Nash. I’m not strengthening with anyone, guys. Okay? This is not personal against KD, and even when he tweeted me and said he will have the note, I appreciate him, guys. I appreciate the involvement. I just want to tell KD that I love it, do you know what I am saying?
“It was not perfect, but I can honestly say that I took the opportunity to win a championship with my best friend. We had an incredible moment. I can honestly take responsibility for my actions and say that I was not always in the best mentally, spiritually, physically, emotionally … I am doing my things.
The organization of Brooklyn Nets is still unleashing from the hole of that era, starting to try to reconstruct something. But that was a deep hole and it will take time.
