Leeds have only lost twice at Elland Road all season and have beaten Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Everton, as well as draws against Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle.

Arsenal out of sync as pressure mounts

The focus has been on the attackers given their recent problems. Since the start of the year, none of Viktor Gyokeres, Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Noni Madueke or Leandro Trossard have scored a Premier League goal.

But what type of service do they benefit from? In recent years, Arsenal’s main creative force has been captain Martin Odegaard. Lately he has also been well below his best.

Speaking after the defeat to United, Odegaard said that “obviously” the team’s three successive second-place finishes had been a factor in that title race. Although the captain will need to show leadership during this difficult period, an improvement in his own performance on the field would no doubt help calm nerves.
