The Frenchman tops our fan poll following his sensational display in 3-0 win against Chelsea

Manchester City’s Rayan Cherki has been voted Player of the Matchweek for Matchweek 32. 

The playmaker’s inspired performance at Stamford Bridge secured a thumping 3-0 win against Chelsea, as Man City cut the gap on Premier League leaders Arsenal to just six points.

Cherki sparkled in the second half, providing two brilliant assists.

The first of his two was a pinpoint cross for team-mate Nico O’Reilly who headed Man City in front after 51 minutes. Cherki then went on a delightful run and showed awareness to pick out Marc Guehi, who netted a fine second goal.

Cherki topped our fan poll for the first time, while it’s the fourth time the accolade has been claimed by a Man City player, after Erling Haaland, Jeremy Doku and Antoine Semenyo’s successes.

The French star picked up 37 per cent of the fan vote for Matchweek 32, while his closest challenger, Leeds United winger Noah Okafor, had 19 per cent. West Ham United defender Konstantinos Mavropanos was marginally behind Okafor on 18 per cent.

The other nominees this week were AFC Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott (eight per cent), Brentford striker Igor Thiago (seven per cent), Crystal Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta (five per cent), West Ham striker Valentin Castellanos (four per cent) and Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Mats Wieffer (two per cent).
