Man Utd buy £52m star as Arsenal make rogue Serie A signing – moves AI think must happen | Football | Sport

Sporting directors and recruitment specialists work tirelessly during transfer windows to assess which players offer good value and stand the best chance of finding success at their respective clubs. But in the not too distant future, Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools could also help determine which player is the perfect fit.

With Premier League heavyweights such as Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea all frantically busy this summer, SentientSports used their AI data model to work out which players each club in England’s top flight should be looking at. Here, Express Sport takes you through the results for six of the biggest teams in the division…

Angelo Stiller to Man Utd

United are expected to sign a deep-lying midfielder before the end of the window and Stiller fits that brief. The German international, 24, has been linked with the likes of Liverpool and Real Madrid as he continues to grow in stature at Stuttgart, who reportedly want £52million to let him go.

Charles De Ketelaere to Arsenal

Atalanta star De Ketelaere has found success in Serie A but he is not one of the players Arsenal have been linked with this summer. SentientSports revealed to The Telegraph that ‘his link-up play would be well-suited to Arsenal’s attacking midfield’.

Xavi Simons to Chelsea

This one bodes well for Chelsea as they are in the process of trying to thrash out a deal for Simons with RB Leipzig. The data model has the attacking midfielder down as a ‘strong fit’ who ‘aligns tactically’ with the players in Chelsea’s ranks.

Jan Paul van Hecke to Liverpool

The Reds are set to go after a new centre-back option to provide cover for Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate. Brighton’s player of last season Van Hecke has been flagged as a ‘strong tactical and chemistry fit’ who Liverpool bosses could consider looking at as an alternative to the likes of Marc Guehi.

Aleksandar Pavlovic to Man City

City are yet to find a player who can fill in for Rodri in defensive midfield without the team’s performances slipping. Bayern Munich youngster Pavlovic could be the man they’ve been looking for, with AI suggesting that he is a ‘better developmental fit’ than Martin Zubimendi, who has just signed for Arsenal.

Julian Brandt to Tottenham

Spurs are on the lookout for an attacking reinforcement after missing out on Bryan Mbeumo, and Brandt is the recommendation. The 29-year-old has made more than 350 Bundesliga appearances and is closing in on a half-century of Germany caps.
