Rodrigo Hernández, the recent winner of the Ballon d’Or, will be honored this Saturday before his team, Manchester City, plays Tottenham Hotspur on the pitch at the Etihad Stadium.

The Madrid-born footballer, who has been traveling around Spain lately, received the Ballon d’Or a few weeks ago, ahead of Brazilian Vinícius Júnior in the voting. This Saturday, he will return to his stadium to receive a tribute.

Rodri will be received on the pitch along with the award, which makes him the first player in the Sky Blues’ history to win it.

City has asked its fans to be in their seats twenty minutes before the match and has offered to print Rodri’s name for free on all shirts purchased these days and until Sunday.
Rodri is currently recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury he suffered in a draw against Arsenal. The initial prediction was that he would miss the entire season, but the midfielder wants to be available for the new FIFA Club World Cup, which will be played in June and July.
