The Knicks mounted a heroic return of 17 points that in the end remained short in a top of nails against the Indian Pacers in their fourth game of Las Vegas Summer League, 91-88.
Here are some takeaways …
–Marjon Beauchamp I spent another huge night with 28 points on a shot 6 out of 11 from three, and Tyler Kolek Added 14 points, five assists and five turnover.
-The Knicks were without the best perspectives Kevin McCullar Jr., Pacome Dadiet, Ariel Hukport OR Mohamed Diawara. They received some pace games from Dink Pate, Who marked 11, Anton Watson, who marked nine e Yudai Baba, who had nine points.
Kam Jones I spent a monster evening for the Pacers with 21 points and 11 out of 9 assists shooting from the field. Enrique Freeman Registered 18 points, 10 rebounds and four assists.
-The appearing only for three minutes combined in the last three Knicks matches, center Lance Ware He had the beginning and had an early impact with a crash and some fouls taken in the opening minutes. Beauchamp continued his momentum from his third game, hitting an internal float, losing a dash and nailing three for seven points in the first quarter.
Despite the initial crime, the pars kept their defense in rotation and it was a close relationship for the whole first. In the end, Indiana led the 17-16 entering the second.
The pacers left for a 16-0 behind an offense of blocked New York and some strong deep shooting on the other side. Enrique Freeman went 5-5 and scored all 12 points of the first half in the second quarter, including a alley monster.
-Baauchamp was the only Knick with talent and aggression offensively, entering the assistance and converting a block into a transition and one, even hitting a shooting shot. He had 19 in half, however, the Knicks as a team struggled once again to create and convert from depth, going to 5 to 15 to 8-Per-17 of Indy in the first half while they followed the 52-38 break.
Baba, who started tonight, started starting the second half, hitting a three and a reverse layup. The New York offense still seemed projected with a quiet game from Kolek after his banger in the third game.
-C managed to find some successful to burn Indian on the rear cuts and feed a little Beauchamp, spreading a 9-0 race at the end of the period. He hit another pair of three in the third while the Knicks cut the Pacers at 68-59 entering the fourth.
New York’s momentum led to the fourth. Dink Pate He hit a three, scored a lay-up and followed three more, in addition to the foul, for a total of all 11 of his points in the final frame.
Anton Watson He threw a poster with one hand on Freeman to cut the advantage of the Pacers two with just over two minutes to play, unleashing the crowd and the announcers. With 90 seconds left, Kolek hit a Middie of an ankle-saback-back-back to tie it.
After a free shot by Pacer, Kolek sparked the lane from a bad tour to hit the deckchair and one to put the Knicks two. A Freeman finish drew the score and, after a lack of Beauchamp, the Pacer resumed the advantage over the shots free from a foul out of the ball and a defensive rebound blown with a free shot missed by the Knicks.
Now down three, Kolek has quickly lost two and a three -tree Beauchamp look, but the Indian has lost two free shots. With another shot to send the game to the extraordinary, Kolek has lost a turn three while the pacer escapes.
