Martin Odegaard missing from Arsenal training images ahead of FA Cup game against Wigan Athletic
Arsenal return to action on Sunday when they take on Wigan Athletic in their FA Cup fourth round match at the Emirates Stadium, and the Gunners have released footage from their recent training sessions. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta received a timely boost as Max Dowman was pictured with the North Londoners’ senior squad for the first time since injuring his ankle in December. French central defender William Saliba, who missed Thursday’s Brentford match through illness, was also back in training but Martin Odegaard was absent from the photos.

A huge injury scare has emerged regarding the Arsenal captain after he was seen limping heavily as he walked through the mixed zone and back onto the Gunners team bus after Thursday night’s match. Since then, nothing has been reported regarding his fitness, but it appears he may not be available for tomorrow’s match. It is unclear whether Odegaard actually missed yesterday’s training or whether he was available. However, Arteta has nothing to hide at Wigan and the Norwegian could indeed be injured.
Dowman’s return is a huge boost, but it remains to be seen if he’s ready to step up tomorrow. Wigan are currently 22nd in the 24-team League One and are unlikely to pose any threat to Arsenal. The Gunners are looking to win the quadruple this season, and they will be keen to progress to the fifth round for the first time since winning the FA Cup in 2020.
