Mikel Arteta dealt a disappointing new Kai Havertz injury update at Arsenal

Arsenal striker Kai Havertz has suffered another setback on his return from injury and will now be out for longer than expected.

Havertz suffered a knee injury against Manchester United on the opening day of the Premier League season and has been missing since.

The German striker’s absence has left the Gunners rather short in attack in recent weeks, with Viktor Gyokeres and Gabriel Jesus also struggling with injuries.

Havertz was close to returning from injury, but it has now emerged that the 26-year-old is unlikely to play again this calendar year.

Arsenal striker Kai Havertz suffers injury relapse

German national team manager Julian Nagelsmann has revealed that Arsenal striker Kai Havertz has suffered an injury relapse.

The former Bayern Munich manager also explained that the Gunners star is now expected to be out until the new year.

Speaking to the media, Nagelsmann revealed: “Kai Havertz had a slight relapse of his injury, but overall he is doing well. He should return towards the end of the year.”

Just when Arsenal appeared to have several key players back, new players joined the injured list and some suffered further setbacks.
