Mikel Arteta has already rejected Noni Madueke’s first request at Arsenal, decision has been made
Noni Madueke has completed his move to Arsenal from Chelsea.
The 23-year-old England international was not a popular choice among the fans, but Mikel Arteta made it clear at Arsenal that he wanted Madueke signed.
On Friday, the Gunners boss got his wish as Arsenal officially confirmed that Madueke has joined the club on a long-term contract.
The player is delighted with the move, but his first request at the Emirates has been turned down.
Mikel Arteta rejects Noni Madueke’s first request at Arsenal
Arsenal have some big pre-season plans.
The Gunners take on Watford in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Saturday. Then, they jet off to Asia for games in Singapore and Hong Kong against Newcastle United, AC Milan and Tottenham Hotspur.
Arsenal will then return to England to face Villarreal and Athletic Club before heading into the opening game of the new season.
After completing his move to Arsenal, The Athletic have revealed that Madueke was eager to cut short his holiday and join the Gunners on their pre-season tour of Asia.
However, Arsenal and Arteta have turned down that request and have urged him to get some rest.
The Gunners want Madueke ‘recharged and mentally fresh before a long season, and have convinced him to take a two-week break’.
During those two weeks, the winger will be given access to one of the club’s strength and conditioning coaches. Madueke will then join the Arsenal squad early in August.

Are Arsenal right to leave Noni Madueke out of their pre-season tour
Every new player would want to be involved with the group straight away, and Madueke is no different.
The Englishman is coming in as a backup, so he will want to impress Mikel Arteta before the season even begins in order to be in contention to start games early in the season.
However, Madueke has barely had any rest. He went to the Club World Cup right after the season and then came to Arsenal straight from America.
Asking him to go on a long tour wouldn’t have been fair at all and would’ve probably increased the risk of injuries too.
Arteta is absolutely right to leave Madueke back in London to recharge and get ready for the upcoming campaign.
