Mikel Arteta sends exciting message to Arsenal fans after major boardroom shake-up

Mikel Arteta told arsenal fans that “the big things are ahead” after the club announced a major upheaval in the conference room.

Executive vice-president Tim Lewis left his role on Friday morning, Richard Garlick was promoted from chief executive officer (CEO).

Four new additions were made to the board of directors of Arsenal after the departure of Lewis, with Kelly Blaha and Otto Maly joining themselves as non -executive directors.

Dave Steiner, longtime advisor to the Kroenke family, is also part of the board of directors with the famous producer and director, Ben Winston.

“A wonderful future is the only thing I can say,” said the boss of Arsenal Arteta, when he asked him questions about the conference room changes.

“I am so positive about this and whenever I speak to Stan and Josh (Kroenke) and how ready they are, the projection they have, the vision they have for the football club, the people we have around him, there is no doubt that great things are in advance.”

The news of Lewis’s departure on Friday was a shock for Arsenal supporters given its longtime link with the Kroenke family.

Lewis has advised them since 2007 and joined the Arsenal board of directors five years ago.

He was promoted to the role of executive vice-president in March 2023 and Arteta praised the work that occurred during his stay at the club.

“Well, I was aware at certain times (on conference room changes), and I had various discussions with Josh in particular, as well as with Tim,” said Arteta.

“This is not the first time that has happened since I have been here and, once again, an incredible gratitude towards Tim for what he has done for the football club, which he did for the team, for me too personally.

“Everyone is in different phases of their life and needs different things and that’s it, we are moving forward.

“There have been a lot of changes since I got to the club. First of all, obviously Tim leaves and I would like to say a few words because he was someone with whom I really like to work.

“I think he has made a huge contribution to everything we have done in recent years.

“Then, for rich, congratulations, because it is a huge role to be the CEO of this football club.

“And, then, welcome to the new members of the board of directors. I hope they will improve and help us, and provide new ideas and support, and improve this club.

“It is ultimately Stan and Josh’s decision. They were incredibly favorable, so we remember again. ”
