Mikel Arteta stops Arsenal training to speak to ‘special’ player right in front of Cristhian Mosquera

Arsenal are continuing their pre-season preparations as they look to mount another Premier League title challenge next term.

Things are starting to come together for Arsenal, and this week, another player has joined first-team training.

Cristhian Mosquera signed for Arsenal this week, and he’s been thrown in at the deep end as he’s immediately started training with his new teammates under Mikel Arteta.

Mosquera has immediately learned about Mikel Arteta’s infamous intensity in his first training session too as the Gunners manager made it very clear how high the standards have to be set at the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta pauses Arsenal training to give Myles Lewis-Skelly instructions

HaytersTV uploaded a full video of Arsenal’s recent open training session over in Singapore, and there were a few interesting takeaways from this video.

As you can imagine, there were numerous moments of top quality on show from the likes of Bukayo Saka, but, at one point, Mikel Arteta halted proceedings to speak to Myles Lewis-Skelly.

During a small-sided game, Arteta blew his whistle and went over to Lewis-Skelly to give the ‘special’ youngster some clear guidance in front of the entire team, including Cristhian Mosquera.

Mosquera was stood just behind Lewis-Skelly as he took on instruction from Arteta, and the new Arsenal signing may well have been taken aback by just how hands-on his new manager is.

Cristhian Mosquera is already a fan of Mikel Arteta

Mosquera has already seen how intense Arteta is as a manager, and while some players may be afraid of that style of coaching, this is something Mosquera will likely take to.

Indeed, the defender is already a noted fan of Arteta. In fact, Mosquera named Arteta as one of his favourite Arsenal players ever alongside Cesc Fabregas recently.

Arteta is very similar as a manager to how he was as a player; he’s focused, intense and he has a winning mentality.

It may only be pre-season, but Arteta is already looking for those marginal gains, and even if he has to stop his entire session to get his message across, he’s willing to do just that.
