NBA: CJ Fulton to return to Minnesota Timberwolves by pre-stage
CJ Fulton will return to the United States in September to connect the minnesota Timberwolves with the NBA team for their pre-installation.
The former Belfast Star player made his debut for the Timberwolves in the NBA Summer League, where he played four minutes in the victory of 89-85 against the Phoenix Suns last month.
The appearance made the third player of Irish origin to take on the field at the highest levels in the United States after Pat Burke and Susan Moran.
The 23 -year -old then played 17 minutes against the Houston Rockets, scoring two points with two assists and two thefts, and after impressed Las Vegas he was invited to train with the team.
Faulton has not signed an agreement with the NBA franchise, but now he will have the opportunity to prepare for the season with the entire list of the franchise, including All Star Anthony Edwards.
The finalists of the Western Conference Back-to-Back are scheduled to play six exhibition games, including the Guangzhou Loong Lions hosting of China, before their regular season against the Denver Nugget on October 27.
Fulton initially attracted the attention of the Timberwolves with his shows in the college match where he represented Lafayette and Charleston Cougars, with an average of 7.8 points and 6.5 assists per game for the latter during his last year.
He lost the selection in the draft of the NBA in June, but he can still realize his dream of appearing in the championship.
Although the G -League – the League of development affiliated to the NBA team – or a professional career in Europe remains options for the former student of the St Malachy’s College, ensuring a place in a NBA list is still the main objective.
