In the next few days, Fulton should be renounced in Iowa Wolves in the G -League – the development league affiliated to the NBA team that begins in November – which will offer the opportunity to develop and make its way to the Timberwolves team.

“It’s a way to keep me around the franchise and go up,” he explained to BBC Sport Ni in early September.

Fulton lost the selection of the NBA draft in June, but made his debut for the Timberwolves during the NBA Summer League.

He played four minutes in their victory 89-85 against the Phoenix Suns in July, making him the third Irish player to take on the field at the highest levels in the United States after Pat Burke and Susan Moran.

The former student of the St Malachy’s College then played 17 minutes against the Houston Rockets, scoring two points with two assists and two thefts.

Initially he attracted the attention of the Timberwolves with his shows in university basketball for Lafayette and Charleston Cougars, with an average of 7.8 points and 6.5 assists per game for the latter during his last year.

The Minnesota Club begins their pre-stuagional program of six games on Sunday 5 October against the Denver Nuggets in San Diego.
