Paul George of 76ers, Joel EMBIID provides accidents on accidents; Tyrese Maxey talks about the struggles of last season
With the NBA season of 2025-26 just around the corner, the days of the League’s media began this week with the Philadelphia 76ers sessions that hold on Friday.
Among those of the organization of the Sixers who spoke on Friday there were Paul George and Joel Embiid. George provided an update on the state on the injury he suffered during an out of season training in July, confirming that he will not be able to initially practice during the 76ers training field, held on Saturday and Sunday in Camden, New Jersey.
“I’m improving more and more,” said George. “I feel stronger and stronger. Now I feel much better than he did at this point last year.”

George had a year down in his first with Philadelphia. In 41 games, George scored only 16.2 points per game on average, which is one of the lowest votes in his career. George’s season has been interrupted due to knee and groin injuries. The team closed it in early March. George is nine times all-stars, six times all-nba and four times selection of all-pioches.
EMBIID did not provide much in terms of when it could return to court, according to Jeff Borzello of Espn.
“There is not necessarily a expectation … the goal is to play coherently and not to be in a position that we were last year,” EMBIID said to the media on Friday.
Announcement
EMBIID appeared in just 19 games for Philly last season, missing most of the year with a knee injury that required arthroscopic surgery in April. There is no current calendar for the return of the 31 -year -old. When Embiid played last season, he scored 23.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per game on average, his lowest numbers from his second year active in the NBA. EMBIID lost his first two seasons after being enrolled in 2014 due to a fracture in the foot. He did not debut for the 76er until the 2016-17 season.

The third member of the three large Filadelphia, Tyrese Maxey, also spent some time talking to the media on Friday. Maxey was asked about the team struggles last season and also spoke of the culture and franchise that moves in the right direction.
“I’ve never lost in my career,” Maxey explained. “It was positive for me to pass through this and become a better leader … This year we intend to be better, and we worked to be better to be better.
Announcement
“I think the biggest thing that this team and this organization must work is ourselves … at this moment we are just trying to find a way to improve every day, make sure that the culture is right and make sure that we are all going in the right direction.”
Maxey entered a bigger leadership role last season with Embi and George set aside. He has set a new career maximum at points, with an average of 26.3 per year after winning the prize for the most improved player of the League. However, despite Maxey’s overall improvement, it was on the field only for 52 games due to multiple injuries.
Philadelphia kicks off his NBA preset program on October 2 with an international match against New York Knicks in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates. The Sixers begin the regular season on October 22 against the Boston Celtics at the TD Garden in Boston.
