Premier League Gameweek 14 Predictions
Friday December 5, 2025 8:32 a.m.
There’s no time to dwell on an exciting midweek round in the Premier League, with the action set to continue over the coming days. It’s been a good week for Arsenal, Manchester City and Leeds in particular, with all three wins expected to be crucial in helping them achieve their respective goals this season.
The challenge now is to keep their foot on the pitch, especially for clubs who will lose players at the next African Cup of Nations. Here, we look at this weekend’s matches and offer some thoughts on the results.

Saturday December 6
Aston Villa v Arsenal (12:30 p.m.)
It seems strange that Villa and Arsenal were placed in the Saturday lunchtime slot, given that they played on Wednesday evening. That said, both will enter the match full of confidence after the midweek wins.
Arsenal managed to exclude Bukayo Saka, Eberechi Eze and Jurrien Timber from the starting XI and still recorded a routine victory over Brentford. Villa did it the hard way, coming back from 2-0 down to win 4-3 at Brighton and record a sixth successive triumph in all competitions. This will be one of Arsenal’s biggest tests of the season against a side who rarely lose at Villa Park.
Prediction: Aston Villa 1-2 Arsenal

Bournemouth v Chelsea (3 p.m.)
Chelsea have highlighted why they are not yet ready for a title challenge at Leeds. A 3-1 defeat to the struggling Yorkshire side showed the lack of consistency needed to clinch the major prize.
Champions League qualification is a more realistic goal for Enzo Maresca’s side, although whether it will be enough to satisfy the club’s owners is another question.
Bournemouth have slipped to 14th place after a run of five matches without a win, with the latest defeat coming at home to Everton on Tuesday evening. They have not won any of their last four matches against Chelsea at the Vitality Stadium.
Prediction: Bournemouth 2-2 Chelsea
Everton v Nottingham Forest (3:00 p.m.)
Sean Dyche makes his first return to Everton on Saturday, hoping to maintain Nottingham Forest’s recent improvement. Dyche was sacked by the Toffees in January but has made an impressive start to life at the City Ground, with Forest suffering just one defeat in their last seven games in all competitions.
He will discover a club revitalized and enjoying life in its new Hill Dickinson stadium.
Everton enjoyed their trip to the south coast in midweek, banishing the frustration of defeat to Newcastle last Saturday.
Prediction: Everton 1-1 Nottingham Forest
Manchester City v Sunderland (3:00 p.m.)
Manchester City survived an up-and-down night at Fulham on Tuesday to win a nine-goal thriller and continue to cling to Arsenal’s footsteps. They may not be as strong a team as previous iterations built by Pep Guardiola, but City appear to be the only team capable of challenging the Gunners’ dominance.
Sunderland will arrive at the Etihad buoyed by another resolute performance, a 1-1 draw at Liverpool that could so easily have been a historic victory. The Wearsiders have faced Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea this season and are yet to lose, although that perhaps seems like one game too many for a team that rarely turns.
Prediction: Manchester City 3-0 Sunderland
Newcastle v Burnley (3:00 p.m.)
Newcastle have won seven points from their last three league matches, including one from Tuesday’s controversial draw against Spurs at St James’ Park. And with the injuries gone, Eddie Howe’s team appears to be heading into a position of strength. They will be too good for a Burnley team that lacks quality in key areas. The Clarets have lost their last five games, and with the teams above them starting to pick up points, it’s going to be a long winter.
Prediction: Newcastle 3-0 Burnley
Tottenham v Brentford (3:00 p.m.)
Thomas Frank will have been pleased with Spurs’ determination at Newcastle, with Cristian Romero’s late spot-kick earning them a point. He was less enamored with the official who somehow decided that Dan Burn had been fouled by Rodrigo Bentancur, putting the hosts up 2-1 from a late penalty.
The Spurs’ problems this year aren’t on the road, however. Their problems originated at home, and Frank will have added motivation to improve his record against his former employers. Brentford rested several key men at Arsenal, but players like Igor Thiago will return for the trip through the capital.
Prediction: Tottenham 1-1 Brentford
Leeds v Liverpool (5:30 p.m.)
Leeds’ win over Chelsea proved they have the firepower to trouble the league’s best, although it is currently questionable whether Liverpool fall into that category. The Merseysiders were fortunate to take a point away from Sunderland after a display which once again lacked real purpose. Arne Slot’s side struggle to break down well-organised defences, and a trip to Elland Road, where Leeds have a duty to play football from the front, could work to their advantage.
Leeds will be full of energy and intensity in what should be a fascinating encounter.
Prediction: Leeds 2-2 Liverpool
Sunday December 7
Brighton v West Ham (2:00 p.m.)
Brighton will be furious at their capitulation against Villa after being on course to record their fourth win in five games. It was a rare managerial error from Fabian Hurzeler and he and the players will be desperate for revenge when West Ham visit the Amex. The Hammers were beaten in a five-goal thriller on their last trip to Brighton, and it could be another bad luck story.
Prediction: Brighton 2-1 West Ham
Fulham v Crystal Palace (4:30 p.m.)
This isn’t a Super Sunday clash to get the juices flowing, but try telling that to Crystal Palace fans right now. The Eagles won at Burnley in midweek to move up to fifth and maintain their upward trajectory under Oliver Glasner. While some of the so-called bigger clubs struggle for form, Palace will be keen to maintain their chances of staying around the Champions League places. Fulham failed to record a third successive league win against City, but Marco Silva had plenty of positives to focus on.
Prediction: Fulham 1-2 Crystal Palace
Monday December 8
Wolves v Manchester United (8 p.m.)
Predicting the outcome of Manchester United’s matches is a thankless task as Ruben Amorim’s side always oscillate between competence and desperation. Wolves are not coming out in despair, as the defeat to Forest shows once again. Even new boss Rob Edwards admitted he would be annoyed if he was a Wolves fan, given their situation. They can’t seem to get out of their current predicament, and unless something miraculous happens, they’re sure to go under.
Prediction: Wolves 0-2 Manchester United
