PSG returns to the top of Ligue 1 after a late victory at Auxerre
Bradley Barcola scored his second goal in two games to give Paris Saint-Germain a late victory against lowly Auxerre and return to the top of Ligue 1 on Friday.
Barcola saved PSG when, with the game destined for a 0-0 draw, he completed a counterattack in the 79th minute and smashed the ball over the advancing goalkeeper.

Until then, second-to-last Auxerre had frustrated second-to-last PSG without threatening to score. Auxerre didn’t have a shot on target all night at the Stade de L’Abbé-Deschamps.
Barcola’s sixth goal of the season capped off a good performance, although the winger will regret having wasted opportunities that could have secured him the three points earlier.
The result put PSG two points clear of surprise Lens, who face a tough draw against third-placed Marseille on Saturday.
Auxerre remained above only Metz at the bottom of the table on goal difference.
