Fulham midfielder’s stunning strike against Liverpool in January voted the best goal of 2025/26

Harrison Reed’s sensational strike against Liverpool has been voted the 2025/26 Guinness Goal of the Season.

The Fulham midfielder’s incredible long-range goal in the seventh minute of second-half stoppage time rescued a point for his side in a thrilling 2-2 draw in January.

Liverpool had looked to be heading back to Merseyside with all three points when Cody Gakpo put them 2-1 ahead three minutes earlier before Reed took matters into his own hands.

Reed took aim from 30 yards out and arrowed a thunderous drive into the top corner, giving Reds goalkeeper Alisson no chance.

It was Reed’s first goal since scoring against Everton in April 2023, 995 days previously.

“A huge thank you to everyone that voted for my goal,” Reed said on Fulham’s website.

“There were some incredible goals scored this season, so to win this award feels like an amazing achievement.”

His goal received the most combined votes from the public and a panel of football experts, topping a shortlist that also featured each of the season’s Guinness Goal of the Month winners and one standout strike from West Ham United’s Valentin Castellanos in May.

Reed becomes the first Fulham player to win the Goal of the Season award and the second Englishman following Andros Townsend, who won the prize for his incredible volley against Manchester City in 2018/19.
