Scholes feels Arsenal man is already nearing £100m as ‘superstar’ status is coming

Paul Scholes has told Arsenal they have a £100million player on their hands, while Nicky Butt, another Manchester United legend, suggested he is on track to becoming a ‘superstar’.

The Gunners are flying high in every competition – top of the Premier League and are yet to drop a point in the Champions League. Their defense has only conceded six goals in these competitions, although their attack has also been in top form.

In the league they are the most potent attack, with 24 goals, and in four European matches they have scored 11 goals.

Arsenal have scored at least two goals in each of their last five matches, finding the net 13 times. The last of these was the best, as they beat Tottenham 4-1, with a summer signing. Eberechi Eze score a hat-trick.

The midfielder now has four goals in his last four league matches, with his goals being the difference in each, and United legend Scholes believes he could soon reach a valuation of £100 million.

Scholes said The good, the bad and football: “He seems like a nice person, doesn’t he? There’s nothing arrogant about him, he’s just a brilliant footballer.

“That was probably the only thing missing from his game, goals. When he goes to a club like Arsenal, he has to start winning games for them.

“He needs to win games and points for Arsenal and he’s doing that now. If he can do that consistently he’s a £100 million player.”

His co-host Butt added: “Everyone says he’s a very nice and humble guy. He looked like a real superstar in the making.

“It took him a while to get going at Arsenal but the talent is definitely there, he’s clearly a very good player.

“People have been talking about him for ages, but watching him against Spurs he looks so humble that maybe he doesn’t want to be a superstar – but he’s going to be, I think.

Rio Ferdinand recently suggested Eze had done enough after his hat-trick to be the first name on the Arsenal team sheet, and although Martin Odegaard is captain, when the Norwegian midfielder is back fit he will have to return to the Emirates.

There could be worse problems for Mikel Arteta than having two midfielders who are perfectly suited to playing alongside Declan Rice and Martine Zubimendi fighting for place.
