Dylan Harper’s NBA career is starting with a Bump.

Choice n. 2 In the draft of the NBA last June it was a surgical intervention on Friday to repair a partial tear of the collateral ligament in the left thumb, announced the team. The recovery will probably keep Harper throughout the training field and the beginning of the season – its time sequence will probably be around Halloween, according to the database of Jeff Stotts injuries in street clothes.

The injury occurred during a Wednesday workout.

Harper, son of the five -time champion NBA Ron Harper, was one of the main ones in Rutgers last season, where the native of New Jersey scored on average 19.9 points per game. The Spurs brought him with the choice n. 2 In the draft last June, right behind Cooper Flagg but in front of VJ Edgecombe.

A groin injury kept Harper at the beginning of the NBA Summer League, but when he got on the pitch, he impressed by his athleticism, which included some top games – and not only at the end of the offensive.

In attack on Las Vegas, Harper has more than passing the eye test. He demonstrated an impressive control of his pace, using it to enter the lane, and once there, he showed he could end up on the edge with both hands, he also had a nice small float. Harper scored 16 points per game on average in Summer League, but shot only 35.7%. There is work to do.

That work will be suspended until the end of October while recovering from the intervention.
