The best bet between Spurs and Rockets: Victor Wembanyama over 8.5 rebounds (-140)
Clean-shaven Victor Wembanyama is a stat-filler, especially now that he’s back on the move after an injury-shortened December.
Along with his offensive performances, Wemby grabbed rebounds of nine, 10 and 10 during the San Antonio Spurs’ three-game winning streak. However, all three fell short of the rebounding total of 10.5 O/U.

Tonight’s matchup with the Houston Rockets sees total rebounding drop down to 8.5 O/U against a Houston team that ranks among the best rebounding teams in the NBA. While the Rockets do a great job cleaning the glass, this adjustment is too broad.
Wembanyama’s recent tallies come despite a decrease in rebounding opportunities (14.3 per game in his last three versus 16.6 on the season), with San Antonio’s sharp shooting limiting his impact on the offensive glass.
This will be the second consecutive game for the Spurs, who will take the heavy legs on the road where their shooting success drops from 49% at home to 45.8% on the road. Houston has plenty of holdouts, sitting seventh in advanced defensive rating and controlling opponents to 45.5% shooting at home (seventh lowest).
In his only meeting with the Rockets this season, Wembanyama recorded eight rebounds with 14 rebound chances. Houston had burly center Steven Adams in action for that matchup as well as forward Tari Eason (a total of 14.6 rebounds per game). Adams is out and Eason is questionable tonight.

Player projections for this game list Wembanyama’s rebound total between nine and 12.2, with my number coming in at 10.2 rebounds. This should have an Over 8.5 bounce price around -180 instead of -140 at bet365.

Wembanyama has grabbed nine or more rebounds in three straight games and his work on the glass is key to stopping the Rockets.
Kevin Durant will benefit from plenty of kickouts, while Houston runs into Wemby inside and hits KD for open looks.
The Spurs are playing their second game in a row and aren’t shooting well on the road. Meanwhile, the Rockets play at a slow pace and have a very stingy defense at home.
