The Bilal Coulibaly wizard guard has undergone surgery on the right -thumb ligament, probably loses the start of the season
This is what the teams fear when their players raise him for their country of origin.
The Washington Wizards Bilal Coulibaly striker has undergone surgery to repair a torn ligament in the right thumb, which he suffered while playing for France at Eurobasket. Recovery from the intervention will probably have Coulibaly for the start of the regular season.
The wizard guard/striker Bilal Coulibaly suffered a surgical procedure today in New York City to repair a tear of the right thumb ligament. The injury was immediately during the Eurobasket Fiba game with the French national team.

Coulibaly is not the only magician who was injured playing for France at Eurobasket, the center Alex Sarr also had to leave the tournament after injuring the calf. France, the winners of the silver medal only a couple of years ago at the Paris Olympics, was eliminated by Eurobasket after a shocked loss in Georgia in the 16 round.
Coulibaly is part of a young core with potential in Washington, and last season he scored 12.3 points and five rebounds per game on average. While brings some defense and director to the table, Coulibaly must be a more efficient shooter to really leave a sign-shot only 28.1% from 3 for the Wizards last season, and this did not seem to improve during the summer as it was 3 out of 14 from beyond the Eurobasket span.
Missing the training camp and the beginning of the season is not ideal for a young developing young player, but once healthy and able to return to the Coulibaly field he will have a lot of running and opportunities while the wizards try to grow their young nucleus.
