The captain of the Florida Panthers Sasha Barkov is currently being recovered after suffering a serious knee surgery.

It was five days ago that Barkov went under the knife to repair a torn ACL and McL on his right knee, an injury that he suffered the day before during a practice of the training field at Baptist Health Iceplex in Fort Lauderdale.

According to the panthers, Barkov should lose from seven to nine months due to the intervention.

On Wednesday, with the Miami Heat of the NBA he took part in their training field on the Florida Atlantic University campus in Boca Raton.

Barkov, who apparently felt that five days after surgery it was more than enough to wait, was seen using crutches in the court of the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena della Fau while visiting the heat players and coaches.

Over the years, Barkov has been spotted in many heat games and has not been shy in saying that he is a big fan of the local basketball team.

The feeling is apparently mutual.

Just ask the head of the coach of Miami Heat Erik Spoelstra, who has met Barkov a little in the last two decades.

“He’s so stimulating,” said Spoelstra. “I love for all the boys to see him over there. It has been an electrifying race that have had the last three seasons, and it is an important part of it. Yes, he has talent, but when you start to dive into what everyone says about his character, his leadership, his mentor, of all the right things. He moves a locker room because of what he is. It is real talent.”

While Barkov was on the sidelines, looking at the rehearsals while leaning against crutches, several heat players, coaches and managers, including Alonzo Mourning, approached him to greet and wish him the best.

At his credit, and with surprise of anyone who knows him, Barkov was all smile, full of positivity.

“It is heartbreaking to see him on the crutches, but then you talk to him and he is saying:” Oh, don’t worry. I will return in five or six months, “said Spoelstra, adding that while he loves Barkov’s spirit regarding his healing, he joked that the medical staff of the panthere probably would not want Barkov to distribute the estimates of the Timeline line.

“I love that boy,” said Spar. “I love everything it is about.”

Barkov’s Panthers will play the last two pre -hexon games against Tampa Bay Lightning – Thursday in Tampa and Saturday at dawn – before hosting the Chicago Blackhawks for the opening evening Tuesday at Amerant Bank Arena.
