The Knicks make the most of their team effort to overcome the Raptors in the NBA Cup quarterfinals
The Knicks defeated the Toronto Raptors 117-101 in the NBA Cup quarterfinals on Tuesday night.
New York booked a trip to Las Vegas for the NBA Cup semifinals for the first time.
Here are some ideas…
– Both teams reached the quarterfinals in numerical inferiority: the Knicks were without Miles McBride as he undergoes further testing for his ankle injury, and Toronto was without the former Knicks RJ Barrett (knee) e Emmanuel Quickley (illness).

– Wanted some high-flying NBA Cup action? Did you understand. Both teams had their scoring touch right from the start, shooting a combined 61% from the field in a back-and-forth opening frame that ended with Toronto up by four.
Jalen Brunson was once again leading the offensive charge for New York, hitting all but two of his nine shots for a season-high 20 points in the first 12 minutes. Brandon Ingram he did a good job matching that for the Raptors, putting up 17 points on efficient 6-of-7 shooting from the field.
– The Knicks continued to score and stepped up defensively to take over in the second half. City of Karl-Anthony‘ a monster jam helped them open their first double-digit lead of the game, and they outscored Toronto 34-13 to take a 17-point lead before halftime.
Brunson had just two errors on 12 attempts and Towns had 10 points and nine rebounds.

– New York continued to make things work by coming out of the locker room with Josh Hart leading the charge, scoring the team’s first nine points of the third quarter. Hart had a fantastic first half, and his surge brought his total to 18 points that night with a perfect 7-of-7 from the field and 3-of-3 from three in his first 19 minutes of action.
The Raptors found their balance and put together a mini-run, but still trailed by 15 heading into the final frame.
– New York’s offense continued to surge, and Hart’s fourth 3-pointer of the night led to a 20-point game early in the quarter. Toronto showed some fight down the stretch, but ultimately the Knicks never looked back, as they booked their ticket to the semifinals with the 16-point win.
Brunson finished with a season-high 35 points, Hart had a season-high 21, Mikal Bridges with 15 chips, Towns accumulated 14 and 17 boards, Anunoby had 13 against his former team and Jordan Clarkson he bounced back with 12 off the bench.
