Arsenal is not foreigners to an injury crisis with perhaps the only surprise that this last edition arrived so early in the season.

Already this quarter, Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, William Saliba and Ben White were sidelined with problems with Kai Havertz to be always undergoing minor knee surgery at the end of August. Gabriel Jesus has not played since January.

Noni Madueke joined The Walking Buded last weekend, forced half-time against Manchester City.

It could have been much worse. Saka’s hamstrings were not bad as the first feared on Sunday after only missing only three games. Although Oldaard injured the same shoulder twice, he also avoided the kind of damage that held him away for three months last season.

Saliba was back on the side against City and again against Port Vale in the middle of the week while Madueke’s knee injury is a medial ligament rather than an earlier, the former Chelsea winger looking up to two months of strait.

But the frequency in which their fans were abundantly sweated on the physical form of their main men is concern.

Arsenal has well -documented problems that are on the finish line, but the absences of Saka, Odegaard, Havertz and Gabriel Magalhaes at crucial times last season had its own meaning in another season without trophy.

Given recent history, there could be the feeling that Arsenal has the worst luck in the Premier League. But in reality, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Sunderland, Manchester City and Tottenham are currently faced with the same number of injuries, if not more, for a season of season when players are most at risk.

“ What we see is that players come back during the first weeks of the new season and during this period, we are now generally seeing a peak of injury ”, Stephen Smith, CEO and founder of Labs Kitman who specializes in the well-being of injuries and performance analysis, told Metro. “This is generally what we will see through the Premier League compared to other parts of the year.

“We see another point around Christmas and New Year because there is so much congestion around this period and still towards the end of the season.”

When injuries begin to accumulate, there will inevitably be questions about what causes it. The blame can address medical staff, too intensive training sessions or players themselves who do not take care of themselves.

Last season, Saka, Havertz, Gabriel and Martinelli were all struck by injuries to the hamstrings during the second half of the season in what was a problem on the league when players and clubs fought thanks to a ruthless calendar. This time, arsenal players were struck by a variety of problems, a common problem at this stage of the campaign.

“If they all suffered from a specific type of injury, it would be easier to jump to this conclusion that something is wrong on the training ground,” said Smith. “But we also know these periods of the season when injuries are much more likely.

“The first two weeks of the season are part of it and as we see it right now with Arsenal, there are always more injuries during this period than we do throughout the season. We will see a reduction in the coming weeks when things come back to a more normal level.

Navigating in this first “point of injury” of the season is delicate with desperate clubs to hit the ground running with new signatures wishing to impress immediately.

Dare to rotate and rest the members of your team at this early stage will bring you a serious reduction in the language of some, but for Manchester City and Chelsea, there was a good reason after their exploits of the Club World Cup.

Chelsea’s victory against Paris Saint-Germain in New Jersey intervened 34 days before their first match against Crystal Palace and while City left the competition early, Pep Guardiola had serious concerns about how it would come back to bite his side later.

Moises Caicedo and Tijjani Reijnders are the only players of these two clubs to have played every minute this season and although Chelsea and City have suffered injuries elsewhere, the rotation of the squad even in the first weeks of the season could be a long -term solution.

“Seeing these points, it suggests that there is a potential for teams to take advantage of more rotation during these first two weeks of the season to potentially compensate for part of this,” said Smith. “If we know that we are leaving in the season, this is a period when there is a higher risk of potential injury, we should potentially use more rotations to play during this period.

“I know everyone wants to go down to take the perfect start and get victories under their belt, but they also want to keep their best players and available.”

So what can Arsenal do? “Without having access to all the information on how all these players respond to day, it is impossible to say if there are things they can do to help the situation,” said Smith.

“But sitting on the side, we sit down with regard to the use of data and what we see, often we can learn things. The question is not to know if there is something that Arsenal could have done to prevent these problems, but how they can learn from them using the information they have to take advantage of things in the future and prevent other injuries in the future.
