Thierry Henry explains the Arsenal decision that is shaping the title race
Arsenal fans have seen it all. They saw their team find themselves at a pretty bad point in the club’s storied history just a few years ago, and now they see them as legitimate title favorites.
It’s a big step to go from there to where they are today, not just in the league. Their performances in the cups, as well as the Champions League, have been nothing short of brilliant, and they are still alive in all competitions.

A few years ago, this would have been a crazy dream. The team employed players who wouldn’t make the bench now, and in general the team spirit, tactical identity and everything around it was pretty bad.
What has changed? Mikel Arteta. It wasn’t just him, of course. The board actually took enough care to invest in the players the manager wanted, and you now have one of the best teams in world football, and while they haven’t won anything yet, that could change by the end of the season.
Former Arsenal player Thierry Henry, who has seen and won everything in football, was asked about Arteta and how he is so important to this club now, to whom he has only said good things.

Speaking after the Nottingham Forest draw, Henry explained how Arsenal have trusted the process with Arteta, and he has found a way to get them to where they want to be.

He said: “You have two teams that could be in the top four, you put money on the table, we kept our manager, and we see a lot of coaches getting sacked, or people don’t trust them. It seems we were right to keep Arteta.
“He’s doing extremely well. I repeat, you put your money on the table and we’re seven points ahead. We’re doing extremely well. We’ve asked Mikel Arteta to find a way to be above Liverpool and Man City. If they don’t keep up with Villa, it’s their fault.
“Look at what you do and what you can do, however you want to do it. I know a lot of people talk about set pieces and not creating a lot of chances and stuff. We asked him to find a way to win. We still haven’t done that, but that’s what he’s doing.”
Henry is absolutely spot on with his point of view. Arsenal failed to win against Nottingham Forest. They came closer, but they didn’t.

However, this remains a very good team that is seven points above the very good teams.
Arsenal are still doing well in the Champions League, as well as the Premier League, and a draw won’t change anything. Of course, Arsenal need to come out of this and win most of their remaining games.
However, no team can win all existing matches. People need to realize this.
