Three-time MVP Jokic suffers ‘heartbreaking’ injury.
Three-time NBA Most Valuable Player Nikola Jokic suffered a “heartbreaking” knee injury as the Denver Nuggets lost 147-123 to the Miami Heat.
Jokic was injured late in the first half in an accidental collision with teammate Spencer Jones.

Jones stepped on Jokic’s foot and he immediately collapsed to the ground clutching his knee.
The 30-year-old will undergo an MRI on Tuesday to determine the severity of the problem.
“He immediately knew something was wrong,” Nuggets coach David Adelman said.
“This is part of the NBA. Anyone who gets hurt, it’s heartbreaking, especially someone special like him. We’ll find out more tomorrow.
“We will move forward as a team. Obviously at the moment I’m only worried about him as a person and the disappointment of having experienced something like this.”
Jokic, who leads the NBA season in rebounds and assists, had 21 points and eight assists in the game before suffering the injury.
