TNT Sports is separating from NBA TV

Tnt Sports is moving away from the TV NBA, since the Discovery Warner Bros. Cable Unit has chosen to close the supervision of the network owned by the League this autumn.
The talks that would have seen TNT keep his supervision of NBA television operations, a role he had maintained since the 2008-09 season, did not fruit. While the financial considerations have obviously played a key role in the division, it is said that the reduced number of games that will be brought to the TV NBA under the new 11 -year right package of the League has undermined the interest of TNT to maintain the partnership.
The decision to end the alliance was announced on Friday morning by the President and CEO of TNT Sports Luis Silberwasser in a note for employees. In the note, Silberwasser characterized the division as a mutual separation of ways.
“We have made several proposals to continue to provide services and manage the NBA TV network and the related digital resources,” Silberwasser wrote. “However, we were unable to agree on a forward journey that recognized the value of our competence, quality content and operational excellence that our fans and partners expected from sports.”
Silberwasser continued to notice that the daily supervision of the network would return to the NBA on October 1st.
While this marks the end of a 17 -year -old agreement that was originally mediated by the former Capo Sports David Levy, TNT will continue to serve as a digital content generator for the NBA through its Bleacher and House of Highlights Properties relationship.
TNT DNA will also persist Within the NBA Studio Show, for which Silberwasser has licensed the rights to the Epn and ABC of Disney. According to the terms of that secondary agreement, the four protagonists (Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Shaquille O’Neal) will remain blocked behind the desk and TNT will continue to have an absolute editorial control of the show.
