Sandro Tonali’s agent Beppe Riso denies reports he offered the Newcastle United player to Arsenal but has left the door open to Juventus. “We will evaluate it in March.”

There had been rumors that the Gunners were in talks for the midfielder during the January transfer window, but Newcastle immediately slammed the door.

Now, The Athletic claims that it was Tonali’s agent who contacted Arsenal manager Andrea Berta and proposed the possible move.

Agent Riso spoke to Sky Sport Italia this afternoon and was asked about Arsenal’s interest.

“I read it, but Newcastle won’t let Sandro leave in January, and we never talked about it at Arsenal,” Tonali’s representative said.

This follows reports in recent months that the 25-year-old was eyeing a potential return to Serie A for Juventus.

“We will assess in March if Newcastle are open to everything, but at the moment they are playing in the Champions League, it is not the right time to talk about it.”

This would open up a scenario in which the Azzurri star actively seeks a new club beyond the Magpies, who he joined from Milan for €60.8 million plus additions in 2023.

His current contract with Newcastle United only runs until June 2028 and Milan are to receive a 10% reduction on his future on-load fee.
