U18s preview: Stoke City v Arsenal | Pre-Match Report | News
Our under -18s go to Stoke City on Saturday October 4 in search of consecutive victories in the Cup of the Premier League U18. The kick-off at Clayton Wood Training Ground is scheduled for 11 a.m. (UK time).
Adam Birchall’s team hit the floor while running in the cup when they beat Peterborough United 4-0 in August. The goals of Alex Marciniak, Caedach O’Neill and Brando Bailey-Joseph sealed an impressive result on the posh in northern London.
The categorical victory sent our under 18s to the top of group A, where they are currently away from Norwich City on the difference in goals.
The opposition
The Potters experienced a difficult start to their season, after losing their first five games in all competitions, including 2-0 defeat against Norwich in the Cup. Their recent form has improved since then, highlighted by consecutive victories from the Premier League North against Leeds United and Newcastle United.
We faced the Staffordshire team in February 2022, when Kayhon Edwards’ penalty was not sufficient to go to the semi-finals of the Cup, because we lost 2-1 in the West Midlands.
