Max Porter’s Under-21s face Ipswich Town at Mangata Developments Stadium on Friday February 27. Kick-off in north London is set for 7pm (UK).

Our young Gunners come into this match in great form, having won four of their last five matches, scoring ten goals and conceding just one in this period.

Last time out we had a 4-1 win over Reading at the Select Car Leasing Stadium, with Evan Mooney scoring a stunning goal just inside the Royals half to kick off the scoring.

Ipswich achieved Tier 1 status over the summer and joined Premier League 2 for the first time this season. The Tractor Boys wasted no time getting going, recording 31 points from their first 15 games to move into third place in the table.

While Town have won their last three league matches, they come into Friday’s competition on the back of a 3-2 Premier League Cup defeat to Blackburn Rovers, which ended their run in the competition at the round of 16. Ipswich’s matches have been full of goals this season; with 37 scored and 34 conceded, the 71 goals scored in their matches constitute a league record.

Friday’s opponents spread their goals evenly across the team, with five different players scoring at least five times this campaign, including top scorers Tudor Mendel-Idowu and James Mauge, who found the net seven times each.
