Viktor Gyokeres could miss crucial Arsenal matches after being called to court as witness
Arsenal star striker Viktor Gyokerres agreed to testify as a witness during a future defamation trial involving his agent Hasankaya in Sweden next year
Viktor Gyokerres could miss the match time for Arsenal next year after being called to testify in a legal case in Sweden.
Gyokerres joined Arsenal of Sporting Lisbon in an agreement worth 63.7 million pounds sterling in the summer transfer window and scored two goals in its first three -league matches. But his availability in 2026 is now in doubt after being trained in a legal case in Stockholm.
The 27 -year -old striker is represented by Hasan Cetinkaya, who filed a complaint for raw defamation against two publications in Sweden. The case concerns allegations, published by Fotboll STHLM and Express, that Cetinkaya and its agency, HCM Sports Management, had links with criminal gangs.
Cetinkaya denies allegations and previously reported the media outlets in Sweden for “violations of good journalistic practice”. He has now degenerated the case from the Stockholm District Court.
Gykerres has not been accused of any crime and should rather testify as a witness. The documents deposited by Cetinkaya lawyer, Joakim Lundqvist, show that the Swedish international agreed to testify on the stand, if necessary.

Lundqvist told SVT Sport: “He was called upon as a witness to hear in the case concerning the circumstances described in the evidence.”
The dispute comes after a shooting in the suburbs of Huddinde Stockholm in August. Shops were fired at the home of a parent from one of the representatives of Gyokerres.
Stockholm police continue to investigate the incident during which no one was injured, but warned of the potential for violence around industry, given the amount of money involved.
Mirror Football contacted HCM Sports Management and Lundqvist to request additional comments.
The striker officially joined Arsenal on July 26 following a long transfer saga which has become more and more bitter. There was a war of words between the gyoker camp and the sports president Federico Varandas, who denied saying that he had a gentleman agreement with the attacker to sell him this summer.
Sporting was sentenced to a fine of gyoker for refusing to train, but ultimately an agreement was concluded between all the parties. The former Coventry and Brighton striker started the three first League of Arsenal games this season, marking twice in Leeds’ 5-0 battery.
He is currently in international service with Sweden, where he started their 2-2 draw against Slovenia in Ljubljana on Friday evening. Sweden has another World Cup qualification against Kosovo in Pristina on Monday evening.
