Warriors officially promote Nicholas Kerr to the assistant coach – NBC Sports Bay Area and California

Another Kerr will be on the Warriors’ bench for the NBA 2025-26 season.

Nicholas Kerr, son of the head of the Golden State Steve Kerr coach, was promoted to a role of assistant coach for the next season, according to a release of Warriors on Saturday.

Kerr, 32, has spent the last two seasons as head coach of the Warriors of Santa Cruz, affiliated to the Golden State G-League. It has been with the organization since 2018, previously spending three seasons with Golden State working in the development of the players and as a video coordinator.

Under his father, who is entering his twelfth season NBA as head of the Golden State coach, Kerr will join a veteran coaching staff on the bench of the Warriors. The former coaches of the NBA Terry Stotts and Jerry Stackhouse are two prominent names in the staff; Both were hired before the 2024-25 season.

The Warriors also announced a series of other changes within their department of basketball operations. In particular, David Fatoki was promoted vice -president of the development of basketball after having held the role of general manager of Santa Cruz in the last four seasons. Nikola Milojević, son of the deceased assistant coach of the Golden State Dejan Milojević, has also been hired in a video coordinator, also the role of development of the players.
