While the buzz on Lebron’s relationship with the Lakers, the commercial voices make news, the action remains distant

Las Vegas – Lebron James created a nice buzz when he entered the Thomas & Mack center to see his son Bronny playing at the Summer League for the Lakers (And Bronny is quite well).

Lebron created a buzz in Las Vegas long before climbing on that court, with people who participated in the NBA convention which is the summer league that discussed where its relationship with the Lakers is located and if an exchange could be in the offing. It is a topic, but which often turns quickly into the shrug. This is because the dynamics are included and there is no clear endgame. That’s where things are found.

• Lakers are looking at Lebron now for their future of Luka Doncic, but they believe they can deal with that duo this season. Lebron includes the attention of the Lakers, but understandably it may not be happy. Ramona Shelburne and Brian Windhorst of Espn have written recently:

James understood the Lakers who exploited the opportunity to rotate to the youngest superstar. But from James’ point of view, sources said, the nuance was sometimes lost during the transition. Doncic had never asked to be a Laker. James, for his part, had chosen Los Angeles, arriving in 2018 when the team had lost the playoffs five consecutive seasons, the worst race for the franchise since he moved from Minneapolis. Two years later, James had helped to deliver a 17th championship.

[LeBron’s agent Rich] Paul also had to formally inform the Lakers that James intended to take the last year of his contract after the team did not engage in substantial discussions on extending him one year or two, as sources said, as they had done twice previously during James of the Lakers’s mandate.

• Lebron should request an exchange to make it (he has a non -trap clause) and has not done so. Furthermore, Paul “did not even discussed the possibility of wanting an exchange in the future” with the Lakers, Dave McMenamin by Espn said during the transmission of the Lakers’ Summer Championship match of the Lakers. Since it has a no-trade clause, Lebron would have a lever and complete control over any commercial process.

• Four teams contacted Paul to at least kick the tires on a Lebron trade, added McMenamin.

• The challenge in finding an exchange is that Lebron wants to contend and be in a city and with a franchise of his choice. He could stay at the Western Conference, but then he should have beat Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Oklahoma City, Kevin Durant and Houston, Nikola Jokić and a list of improved Denver, Anthony Edwards and Minnesota, and the continuous list. He could try to force east trade, but business in New York or Cleveland either wherever those depth lists and would make those teams considerably older with a very short window (for example, the Cavaliers Darius Garland for Lebron Swap make them older and it is questionable as much as not, if not at all).

What triggered all this was Paul’s statement to Shams Charania by Espn when Lebron exercised his option as a player for this season.

“Lebron wants to compete for a championship. He knows that the Lakers are building for the future. He understands it, but appreciates a realistic possibility of winning everything. We are very grateful for the partnership that we have had for eight years with Jeanie [Buss] and Rob [Pelinka] And consider the Lakers as a critical part of his career.

“We understand the difficulty in winning now while we prepare for the future. We want to evaluate what is best for Lebron at this stage of his life and career. He wants to do every season that has left the count and Lakers understand him, are supported and want what is best for him.”

In the end, what is best for him this season, where it can potentially contend, could very well be with the Lakers. This is a team of 50 wins that meets for a complete training camp and now has a center in Deandre Ayton, the Lakers will be good (if they manage to get enough stops).

However, he will not stop the titles.
