Who ran fastest and furthest in 2025/26 Premier League?
Football writer Adrian Clarke analyses the Premier League’s fastest players of the 2025/26 season, and the players who ran the furthest.
Who were the fastest players?
Wolverhampton Wanderers wing-back Jackson Tchatchoua registered the two fastest sprints of the season.
Nobody came close to eclipsing his electric top speed of 37.30km/h against Everton in the third weekend of the season. In fact, it was the third-fastest speed recorded in Premier League history.Â
The 24-year-old Cameroonian was also clocked at an impressive 36.97km/h when Wolves visited Crystal Palace in Matchweek 27.

The best of the rest all came from north London, with title-winning Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli, and Tottenham Hotspur full-backs Djed Spence and Destiny Udogie making up the top five.
Overall, nine of the 10 fastest speeds belonged to pacy wingers, full-backs or wing-backs, with Newcastle United striker William Osula the sole outsider. Â
The Magpies were the only top-flight club to have three players among the 10 fastest speeds recorded in the 2025/26 Premier League season, with wide men Anthony Elanga and Anthony Gordon on the list too. Â

Outside of the six clubs represented inside the top 10, just four players surpassed the 36km/h mark – all shown in the table above down to 15th place.
Erling Haaland was Manchester City’s fastest individual, with 36.2km/h registered against Arsenal, while Liverpool’s Jeremie Frimpong (36.18km/h) is another who made his quickest sprint against the Gunners.
Leeds United winger Daniel James and Brighton & Hove Albion wide man Yankuba Minteh make up that select group.Â

Who ran the furthest?
Everton’s James Garner ran further than all the other Premier League players during 2025/26, covering an extraordinary 415km in distance. Â
That is roughly the equivalent of running from Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium to Crystal Palace’s Selhurst Park in south London, before then heading to Stamford Bridge, the home of Chelsea.
England team-mates Elliot Anderson and Morgan Rogers also covered an enormous amount of ground during impressive campaigns from the duo. Â
Sandwiched between them in third place was AFC Bournemouth left-back Adrien Truffert, who made a very strong impression flying up and down the flank across his first season of Premier League football. Â
That quartet were the only individuals to surpass the 400km barrier.
Seven of the top ten were central midfielders or No 10s, with two full-backs and wide forward Jarrod Bowen of West Ham United making up the group.  Â

Who ran furthest for the other teams?Â
Of the remaining 10 top-flight teams not featured in the list above, Declan Rice and Tyrick Mitchell both ran over 380km to cover the most distance at their respective clubs. Â
In addition to breaking the Premier League assists record, Bruno Fernandes ran more than any other Manchester United player too, during what turned out to be a stellar 2025/26 for the Portuguese star. Â
Veteran right-back Kyle Walker, 36, also deserves praise for finishing the campaign as relegated Burnley’s hardest-working individual.Â

Who ran the furthest in a single match?Â
Bruno Guimaraes didn’t just score in Newcastle United’s thrilling 4-3 win at home to Leeds United on 7 January – he also covered an extraordinary 13.24km during that classic Premier League game. It was the furthest anyone ran in a top-flight game in 2025/26.
Bernardo Silva and Pascal Gross were the only other players to break the 13km barrier, with the 34-year-old Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder the only individual to exceed that distance more than once.Â
Four of the top eight distances recorded this season came from 31-year-old Bernardo, which is testament to the Portugal international’s incredible fitness, consistency and stamina.
