Beto (Newcastle 2-3 Everton)

The Guinea-Bissau international was a real handful for Newcastle United’s defenders, winning 13 duels – more than any other player on the pitch – and pounced on goalkeeper Nick Pope’s overrun to put Everton ahead again at 2-1. He also hit the crossbar with another opportunity.

Mikkel Damsgaard (Burnley 3-4 Brentford)

The Danish playmaker “oozed class”, according to Brentford head coach Keith Andrews, as he opened and closed the scoring in a seven-goal thriller and registered his 14th assist in the last two seasons through Igor Thiago.

Hugo Ekitike (Liverpool 5-2 West Ham)

Ekitike was one of the main reasons why Liverpool scored five times in a match for the first time this season. The Frenchman scored the opening goal – his 11th league goal of the season – and assisted strikes from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gapko.

Bruno Fernandes (Man Utd 2-1 Crystal Palace)

The Manchester United captain scored and assisted in the same league match for the third time in 2025/26. His equalizer from the penalty spot came after Matheus Cunha was fouled as he tried to recover his through ball, and he crossed sublimely for the winner from Benjamin Sesko’s header.

João Gomes (Wolves 2-0 Aston Villa)

The Brazilian lit up a rain-swept Midlands derby with his superb 60th-minute goal past World Cup-winning Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez. Then, in second-half stoppage time, Gomes’ blocked shot led to namesake Rodrigo Gomes, sealing only Wolverhampton Wanderers’ second league victory of the season.
