Morgan Gibbs-White (Nott’m Forest 4-1 Burnley)
In a sensational 15-minute display in the second half, Nottingham Forest captain Gibbs-White scored a sensational hat-trick to help his side earn an emphatic 4-1 victory over Burnley.
Trailing 1-0 at half-time, Gibbs-White equalised on 62 minutes before completing the turnaround seven minutes later with two clinical finishes. He then produced a sensational header to complete his first career treble.Â
Erling Haaland (Man City 2-1 Arsenal & Burnley 0-1 Man City)
Haaland delivered two match-winning displays to take Manchester City top of the Premier League for the first time since August, scoring the decisive goals against Arsenal and Burnley.
In the Norwegian’s first match, he showed great strength to hold off Arsenal centre-back Gabriel and find the bottom corner and he followed that up with a deft chip over Martin Dubravka in City’s 1-0 success at Turf Moor.
James Justin (Leeds 3-0 Wolves)
Leeds United defender Justin opened the scoring in style in their dominant 3-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
With just 18 minutes on the clock, Wolves failed to clear a corner before the ball broke to Justin, who produced a sensational bicycle kick from six yards out. He also produced four tackles, three interceptions and six clearances to help his side keep a clean sheet.
Ferdi Kadioglu (Brighton 3-0 Chelsea)
Brighton & Hove Albion’s Turkish full-back delivered a complete all-round display in their impressive 3-0 victory over Chelsea, a result that saw the Seagulls leapfrog their opponents into sixth in the table.
Kadioglu opened the scoring after just three minutes when he converted from close range, showcased his excellent dribbling skills and came close to adding to his goal tally, drawing two smart saves from Robert Sanchez.
Rayan (Newcastle 1-2 Bournemouth & Bournemouth 2-2 Leeds)
The Brazilian delivered two eye-catching displays in AFC Bournemouth’s pair of fixtures in Matchweek 33 as they extended their unbeaten run to 14 league matches.
Rayan produced a superb low cross in the victory at Newcastle United for Bournemouth’s opening goal, scored by Marcus Tavernier, before coming off the bench to give the Cherries an 85th-minute lead against Leeds.
Bernardo Silva (Man City 2-1 Arsenal)
In his first match after announcing he will leave Man City at the end of the season, Bernardo Silva delivered an instrumental display in their crucial victory over title rivals Arsenal, running further than any player on the pitch.
Man City’s captain produced an incredible tackle to prevent Arsenal’s Kai Havertz from racing through on goal and beat Viktor Gyokeres to a crucial header, leading to Haaland comparing him to the legendary Italian defender Fabio Cannavaro.
Xavi Simons (Spurs 2-2 Brighton)
Dutch attacking midfielder Xavi arguably delivered his best performance in a Tottenham Hotspur shirt by creating and scoring a goal in their 2-2 draw with Brighton.
Xavi helped Spurs open the scoring with a clever chipped cross that found the head of Pedro Porro. He then put them in front again with a wonderful strike from the edge of the box that crashed in off the post.
Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa 4-3 Sunderland)
Watkins continued his fine form in front of goal by producing a brace in Villa’s seven-goal thriller against Sunderland.
The England forward opened the scoring after just two minutes by heading in from close range before doubling his tally on 36 minutes. Watkins also produced an assist for Morgan Rogers a minute into the second half.
