Wolves Fans’ Verdict v Arsenal: Better performance, bad luck and something to build on

Clive Smith

We had Spurs, Brighton, Burnley and now Arsenal. Six points lost in these last minutes. Our mood would be much better if only…

We played well, looking better defensively than in many games. Maybe Rob Edwards is able to understand Hwang, he had the best effort from both sides in the first half and made a change, which is not something that has been said very often.

We didn’t expect to have much possession, we didn’t expect to get a result, but being so close was a good thing, but it was also a bad thing. Our usual “give away an away goal” came 20 minutes from time, but this led to a more attacking mode. This also brought its reward, the opposing team, already loud and supportive, had a moment of flying limbs and loud shouting as the match came to an end with our goal.

Before I could write an email to the guy at TalkSport who predicted “a demolition against the lowest wolves”, the moment was over. Haven’t we already suffered enough this season? Apparently not yet!

We had reached half-time at Chelsea 0-0 before losing 3-0, but this time we looked more determined to better protect our box while looking slightly less vulnerable on the wings.

Our central defenders won important headers while Gomes was back to his best. Wolfe, Hwang and Larsen also had better games.
