Last year’s beaten finalists Barcelona are on top, with eight-time winners Lyon hot on their heels at the top, while Manchester United, debutants in the main draw, lead the way for the trio of Women’s Super League teams.

The teams ranked first through fourth will automatically qualify for the quarter-finals, with the next eight teams – from fifth to 12th place – competing in a home-and-away play-off to determine who will join them.

Man Utd are one of five teams who have already confirmed at least a play-off place, along with Barcelona, Lyon, Wolfsburg and Bayern Munich.

BBC Sport takes a look at how the three English clubs have fared so far on the continental stage – and what’s still to come.
