WROPING OF THE NBA SUMMER League: Hornets Win Title, Utah’s Kyle Filipowski named MVP

Hornets take the crown of the summer league
Only one team was unbeaten in Las Vegas and won their games with an average of 14.2 points.
Behind no. 4 Pick Kon Knueppel, Charlotte Hornets won the crown of the NBA Summer League, eliminating the King Sacrament in the championship match. Knueppel was appointed MVP of the Summer League championship.
Another extraordinary in the game of the title was the Creighton Center Ryan Kalkbrenner, which was a defensive force throughout the summer league but added 15 points in the championship match. The Hornets who have two rookie with strong projections in the Summer League are a good sign for a development team.
Sacramento was in the game of the title thanks in part to a strong game of Rookie Nique Clifford in Las Vegas, but in the great game it was Isaac Jones who played a show with 24 points and 11 rebounds.
What does the Summer League president win for Charlotte’s future? Probably nothing. On the positive side, the Lakers won Summer League in 2017 behind Kyle Kuzma and continued to win a title in 2020. In addition, the Grizzlies won in 2019 and the Cavaliers in 2023, and both proved to be quality teams. However, around those victories, the Portland Trail blazers, Sacramento Kings and Miami Heat, also won the summer league, but did not continue to hit the fear in the heart of the League.
Kyle Filipowski named Summer League MVP
We listed Utah’s Kyle Filipowski in the “Too Good for Summer League” category for one reason.
The great Utah man, who arrived at the end of the last season, played three games in Las Vegas and took home the Mvp of the Summer League on average 29.3 points per game with 56.1% shooting, of which 39.1% of over the arch, and took 7.7 rebounds per game.
He will do much more for jazz next season.

While there were more than some impressive crushes in Las Vegas, the winner hands down was Johnny Furphy of the Indiana (with apologies to Noa Essengue).
