Weronika Ewald played in the final of the tournament on hard courts in Sharm el-Sheikh for the second time in her career. And she was successful again, this time defeating Luxembourg’s Marie Weckerle. Although the Polish tennis player lost the first set, she only got going later and eventually won 3:6, 6:4, 6:0.

Weronika Ewald (640. WTA) reached the final of the ITF W15 tournament on hard courts in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt , where she was seeded seventh. In the title match, her opponent was Marie Weckerle from Luxembourg (627. WTA ), the tournament’s “eight”.

In the third game, the Polish tennis player lost her serve but showed off her return break. Shortly after, she failed to do so, losing 3:5. Then she lost her serve again (and without winning a point), which meant a 3:6 defeat in the first set.

As if that wasn’t enough, Ewald started the second set with another slip-up on her serve. This time she recovered immediately, and later she even had a break point to make it 3:2. She didn’t use that one, but in the ninth game she was already flawless, and then she followed up with the blow, using the first set point. That gave her a 6:4 victory.

Weronika Ewald fired up the turbo. There was nothing to collect in the third set

The 19-year-old Pole continued her great streak in the third set. In it, she broke her opponent time and again, which is why at one point she was already leading 5:0 and serving for the victory. And the first match point allowed her to end the 125-minute match, as well as reach for the title.
