Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on Arsenal’s striker target, who has an impressive career tally of 92 goals.

Jonathan David has quickly become one of the most

sought-after talents in European football, attracting interest from several elite clubs, including Arsenal. With his contract at Lille expiring next summer, the Canadian striker is poised to become a free agent, making him an appealing target for teams eager to strengthen their attack without paying a transfer fee.

Arsenal is reportedly at the forefront of the race for David’s signature, having already made contact with his representatives. However, the competition is intense, with Premier League rivals and European powerhouses like Barcelona closely following his situation.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently shared an update on David’s future, revealing that his camp has been discussing with clubs from England, Italy, and Spain. Despite this, David is not expected to rush his decision. Romano highlighted that the striker carefully weighs several factors, including the long-term project and the coaching setup, not just financial considerations.

Speaking on The Debrief, Romano stated, “This isn’t something for October, November, December, or even January. It will be for the second half of the season. David will take into account several things, beyond just financials—like the project and the managers. He won’t make a quick decision.”

Romano also added, “Jonathan David will be one of the standout names in the 2025 summer market. Before deciding, he will thoroughly explore his options, but it’s clear that he’s set to leave Lille as a free agent.”

Jonathan David’s outstanding performances at Lille have solidified his status as one of Europe’s top forwards. Last season, he delivered an impressive 26 goals and 9 assists in 47 appearances across all competitions, with 19 of those goals coming in Ligue 1. Since joining the French side in 2020, David has amassed 92 goals and 20 assists in 196 games.

Given these remarkable stats, it’s no wonder clubs across Europe are lining up to sign him. As the summer of 2025 draws near, the competition for David’s signature is expected to heat up, with several top clubs preparing to make a strong push for the talented striker.
