Jack Kayil declares for NBA Draft, keeps door open at Gonzaga
As expected, Alba Berlin combo guard Jack Kayil has declared for the 2026 NBA Draft, according to agents Kevin Bradbury and Milan Nikolic. Not to worry, as the Gonzaga Bulldogs can still opt out and play its first season of college basketball in 2026-27 in Spokane, Washington.
He’s testing the waters, trying to get answers from NBA scouts and franchises. Looking at the different draft screenings, his name is nowhere to be found. That can change with a strong performance at the NBA Combine May 10-17, 2026, at Wintrust Arena and the Marriott Marquis in Chicago, Illinois.
Announcement
The deadline for a player entering the NBA Draft to withdraw early is June 13 at 2:00 pm PT.
The 20-year-old native of Berlin, Germany, is averaging 11.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game in German Basketball Bundesliga competitions. He also represented his country in the FIBA World Cup qualifiers in March.
At 6-5, Kayil is powerful for his position and can score on all three levels. His ability to create for himself and others is what intrigued coach Mark Few and his staff to bring him to the Pacific Northwest.
