Premier League Giants Eye Hugo Ekitike in €80M Transfer Race
Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike has emerged as one of the most sought-after names ahead of the summer transfer window.
Sources indicate that Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Newcastle United have all added the talented French forward to their shortlist.
Manchester United are closely monitoring Ekitike as they look to bolster their attacking options, while Arsenal are also evaluating a potential move. Newcastle see him as a possible successor to Alexander Isak, while Chelsea view him as a cost-effective addition to their squad. Liverpool and West Ham have also expressed interest in securing his signature.
Dutch football legend Wesley Sneijder has previously described Ekitike as “a mix between Neymar and [Kylian] Mbappé,” highlighting his skillset and potential.
Although Eintracht Frankfurt are keen to keep the 21-year-old until 2026, they would consider selling him if a lucrative offer arrives. Premier League clubs are preparing an initial bid of around €60 million, but with Frankfurt setting an €80 million price tag, negotiations are expected to unfold in the coming months.
Manchester United may need an upgrade on Joshua Zirkzee, whose debut season at Old Trafford has been underwhelming. Hugo Ekitike could be a strong alternative, offering a more consistent attacking presence. Likewise, Arsenal could benefit from his arrival, as Gabriel Jesus has struggled with consistent goal-scoring.
Liverpool, meanwhile, might soon face the departure of Darwin Núñez, making a quality replacement essential. Ekitike has already proven his ability in the Bundesliga and has the potential to thrive in the Premier League.
As for Chelsea, their attack has been heavily reliant on Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson. Adding a reliable goalscorer like Ekitike could provide much-needed balance and firepower to their frontline.
