He made the surprising revelation while he spoke in the announcement of his new role as under Armor’s global ambassador this week and said: ‘Personality (is the most important trait. Without it you have no chance. You have to look at someone’s eyes.

“When I go to write a player it is sometimes on zoom and open the laptop. That’s the first impression.
“Is this guy ready to put on that sweater, work in that dressing room and take all the sounds that we around his signing and handle it properly?
“And then we go to the qualities and how this player will relate to other people because this player will have to slip into the dressing room at the end. So you have to imagine this personality and in this position and how to join Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice.”
Gunners is on his way to the beginning of his Premier League campaign on Sunday, when they take on Manchester United at Old Trafford in an important game for both managers.
After a difficult first season at the helm, Ruben Amorim hopes to start his second term strong after taking in Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbuemo and most recently Benjamin Sesko.
While Arteta will look up to the fans’ expectations of a trophy this season after connecting the hole in the front that beat Gunners last season with Viktor Gyokeres.
But Amorim is more likely than most managers to be able to stop the powerful Swede after handling him at Sporting Lisbon.
In quotes that recirculate this week, the Portuguese coach actually gave back in March 2024 a brutal assessment of Gyoker’s games, which highlighted a major shortcoming.
