Noni Madueke Haglar ‘Special’ Arsenal star and responds to Eberechi Eze signing | Football
Noni Madueke has welcomed all “competitions” that he will meet after Arsenal’s features for Eberechi Eze and increased praise for “special player” Max Dowman.
Gunners completed a deal of £ 68 million for Crystal Palace and England star Eze after cutting Tottenham’s features.
Eze closed on a move to Spurs when Arsenal swept in and made him Mikel Arteta’s seventh signing of the summer.
Madueke will face even greater competition at Arsenal after the arrival of Eze but says that strength in depth is needed for teams that “want to do something special”.
The former Chelsea wing, who joined Arsenal in a business worth more than £ 50 million, also supported Eze to do “fantastic well” under Mikel Arteta.

“Yes, the competition is fantastic,” he said on BBC Radio 5 live after Arsenal beat Leeds United 5-0. “I think if you want to do something special it’s something you need.
“But on another note, yes, it’s great to have him here. He is an amazing person and an even better player, so he will do fantastic, I’m safe. ‘
Eze was revealed to Arsenal fans at Emirates Stadium on Saturday before victory 5-0 over Leeds.
Madueke made his first Arsenal start in the extensive victory and said it was a “fantastic” day all the time.
“Proud to make my first start, especially in front of all the fans on the Emirate,” he added. “Fantastic results, five goals, clean sheet, fantastic.”
Madueke also said that he was happy to see Viktor Gyokeres rise by the brand after attracting criticism for his performance in opening day’s victory over Manchester United.
Arsenal paid £ 64 million to sign Gyokeres from Sporting earlier in the summer and hopes that Sweden International will take Gunners to the next level after three consecutive second places.
“When you look at what he did last year, it is clear that he is alive to score,” Madueke said of Gyokeres. “So I’m so happy he got two today.
“It will fill him with confidence and the rest of us with confidence as well. So it is positive for him on an individual note and us as a collective. ‘
Madueke was replaced on the hour brand by Arsenal’s 15-year-old sensation Dowman, who became the club’s second youngest player after Ethan Nwaneri.
“The sky is the limit for him. If he needs any advice I am there for him, he is a fantastic child and I like to be around him.”
Arsenal Manager Arteta was also full of praise for Dowman after his sensational Premier League debut.
“Very proud,” said Arteta. “Large credit to the academy and to anyone who has contributed to that trip.
“The families, hopefully they lived on a beautiful day. The maturity and confidence and joy he gives the rest of the team is magnificent.
“Let’s make it natural and organic. We have to take care of him and make sure we also protect him.”
Arsenal’s trashing of Leeds took the Arteta side to the top of the Premier League table at this early stage.
Gunners will be traveling to Anfield next weekend for a huge collision with defending champion Liverpool.
