Raptors star Scottie Barnes records a historic triple-double in an overtime comeback win against the Warriors

Scottie Barnes left Sunday afternoon for the Toronto Raptors.

Barnes posted a monster triple-double to lead the Raptors to a 141-127 overtime victory against the Golden State Warriors at Scotiabank Arena on Sunday. He secured the triple-double before overtime even began and grabbed 25 rebounds in the win, the most by a player in a single game anywhere in the league so far this season. He also tied the Raptors franchise record set by Bismack Biyombo in 2016.

Barnes had 23 points and 10 assists in addition to his 25 rebounds. He recorded the seventh triple-double of his career and the first 20-20 triple-double in Raptors history. Barnes is now just the second player since 1980 to record a 20-25-10 game anywhere in the league, joining Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokić.

The Warriors appeared on their way to a win in Canada on Sunday afternoon and held a four-point lead entering the fourth quarter. But Toronto went out of regulation on a 9-2 run and forced overtime after Barnes tipped in a rebound to tie the game with about 23 seconds left. Brandon Ingram tried to win at the end, but was off target.

At that point, the Warriors were done. The Raptors opened the overtime period on a 10-0 run and ended up outscoring Golden State 19-5 in overtime to cruise to the victory by 14 points.

The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Golden State, which is now 16-16. They will face the Brooklyn Nets in New York on Monday night in the second game of a three-game road trip.

Immanuel Quickly had 27 points and seven assists in addition to Barnes’ triple double. Brandon Ingram also added 26 points. They shot 51% from the field as a team and scored 35 points off the Warriors’ 21 turnovers, which is the most points allowed so far this season.
