Arsenal Are prepare first bid to sign £60m goal machine in January
Arsenal have reportedly initiated talks with the representatives of Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush as Mikel Arteta seeks reinforcements in the January transfer window.
The Egyptian international has emerged as a potential target following the injury to Bukayo Saka, who is expected to be sidelined for at least two months with a hamstring issue sustained during the Gunners’ 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace.
Marmoush has been one of the standout performers in the Bundesliga this season, spearheading Eintracht Frankfurt’s surge to an impressive third place at the winter break. The 25-year-old forward has been in prolific form, scoring 13 goals and providing seven assists in just 15 league matches.
His overall tally across all competitions includes 18 goals and 12 assists in 24 appearances, with highlights such as converting direct free kicks in three consecutive games.
This remarkable output has placed Marmoush among Europe’s most sought-after attackers, second only to Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane in the Bundesliga scoring charts.
According to CaughtOffside, Arsenal has emerged as the frontrunner in the race for Marmoush’s signature. Despite Frankfurt’s attempts to secure a contract extension with the forward—whose current deal runs until 2027—negotiations have reportedly stalled. Marmoush is said to be keen on a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal’s proactive approach strengthening their position.
However, the Gunners face competition from several Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Newcastle United, all of whom are monitoring the situation closely.
Saka’s absence leaves Arsenal thin in the attacking department, increasing the urgency for reinforcements. Marmoush’s versatility and ability to deliver in key moments make him an attractive option for Arteta, who is looking to sustain the club’s strong start to the season.
